ROSENDAHL CALLS FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR

In a continued effort to enhance public safety on the Westside, Rosendahl today called for additional funding for emergency medical response at Playa Vista Fire Station #67.Rosendahl attended the City’s Public Safety Committee meeting and urged its members to direct the City Administrative Officer to find additional funding to finance an ambulance and medical staff at the fire station.

“Public safety and protecting our residents comes first and I will continue to fight for what our community needs,” Rosendahl said. “I want to make sure this facility has the best and most complete range of services to protect the public.”

The funding would enhance fire protection services already in place at the new fire station. Earlier this year, Rosendahl secured approximately $1.7 million during the City’s budget process for staffing, firefighting equipment, and a fire engine.

Rosendahl said the additional funding would not only improve public safety for the 5,000 residents of Playa Vista, but also constituents who live in the nearby communities of Del Rey, Playa Del Rey, and Westchester.

“The residents of Playa Vista and surrounding communities deserve nothing less than a fully staffed fire station,” Rosendahl said. “This funding will allow our communities to be better protected in the event of an emergency.”

The committee moved forward with a recommendation to approve the action.

The item is expected to be heard in the City’s Budget and Finance Committee later this month.
