L.A. City Attorney secures 4 year jail sentence for child predator.

Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo today announced
his office has secured a conviction and four year jail sentence for an Elysian
Park-area sexual predator who exposed himself to, and assaulted, several
women on multiple occasions.
Eswin Gomez, 27, was sentenced by Judge T.K. Herman to four years in county
jail and lifetime membership on the sexual offender registry. Gomez was
convicted of ten counts of indecent exposure, lewd conduct and sexual battery
on September 4 following a four day bench trial.
Charges against Gomez stem from several reported incidents including one on
the afternoon of September 28, 2006 when two female victims were walking their
dogs in Elysian Park. The victims happened upon Gomez, who immediately
began to rub his groin area and later unbutton his pants and expose himself. As
the victims left the scene, Gomez proceeded expose himself while following
them.
In another incident on December 5, 2006, another female victim was walking her
dog in Elysian Park when Gomez approached her, exposed himself, and began
to commit a lewd act. The victim confronted Gomez and threatened to call the
police, which prompted him to run after her and attempt to attack her before she
was ultimately able to leave the scene.
On February 24, 2007, Gomez again targeted two female victims walking home
on Echo Park Boulevard by grabbing their crotch and private parts. The victims
were able to flee the scene and inform police.
All incidents were reported to the Los Angeles Police Department and forwarded
to City Attorney Delgadillo’s Criminal and Special Litigation Section for
Prosecution by Deputy City Attorney Gabrielle Porter.
